October 2017 In last month’s newsletter, we wrote an article about our sales and distribution partner, Bookmasters. Shortly after we sent that out, the Bookmasters team contacted us with an important update: their distribution and client services will now come under the umbrella of the new business unit Baker & Taylor Publisher Services (BTPS). You can learn more on their blog. What does this mean for Deep River Books authors and their books? To find out, our team had a great talk with Randy McKenzie, Sales Manager for the Christian division, and Karen Broach, Christian Sales Specialist for Special Markets. They assured us that this change will only bring good things, as their team will now have more resources at their disposal. For example, they’ll have access to other BTPS warehouses around the country. This means books will be able to ship to most US readers within one to two days. The team members we’ve come to trust at Bookmasters will continue to faithfully advocate for our books, presenting our titles directly to book wholesalers, retailers, online sellers, and others with whom they have long-standing relationships. There will certainly be change under BTPS, as they have access to more resources. But after talking with Randy and Karen, we’re confident that their passion for our books remains the same.
