In the Image and Likeness of God

Award-Winning Finalist in the “Religion: Christianity” category of the 2017 International Book Awards”

Through the ages, mankind has been roused to understand and explain our origin. The Bible tells us we were created in the image and likeness of God and that God formed our body from the dust of the ground. But exactly how were we made? What was our form like? How did this body differ from Jesus’ body when he took on human flesh? What’s more, how do we rightly address the relationship between Creation and incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection of the body, and re-creation? Without this understanding, how are we to make application for our lives?

In Made for Glory, award-winning author Joshua A. McClure combines powerful testimony and biblical inquiry to unlock mysteries that have great implications for our lives today. Over the years many erudite voices have weighed in on the question of our beginnings. So, where are we? Do we understand Creation any better, or is it yet unknowable? McClure posits that if we don’t get it right, we fail to understand God’s eternal purpose for those created “in his image and likeness.”

McClure’s flair for graphic, powerful biblical study removes blinders and opens the way for deep reflection on past assumptions and misinformation about the purposes of God for his created beings. A must-read for anyone pursuing the truth of who you are and what it means to be made in God’s glorious image.

“The combination of personal and pastoral . . . strikes a near-perfect balance between instruction and fellowship.” — Kirkus Review
