There are changes afoot at Deep River Books, and we wanted to take a moment to give you an exciting update.

As some of you may already be aware, on June 1st, 2016, our former distribution company informed us that they were ceasing operations–an announcement that sparked a hunt for a new distribution source that would match our standards and minimize any inconvenience to our authors.

The company we found is Bookmasters, located in Ashland, Ohio. They are a part of Baker & Taylor, which was recently acquired by Follett Publishing. Follett has been in business for over 140 years and is one of the largest educational publishing companies in the world. In acquiring Bookmasters as part of their purchase of Baker & Taylor, they committed to not only expanding Bookmasters’ services in general, but specifically the Christian branch of Bookmasters. An exciting prospect!

Bookmasters itself has been in business for 40 years, and we were very impressed by the quality of their work and their customer service. We met their sales manager, Randy McKenzie, at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in June, and he has been incredibly helpful in the transition. Our excitement about Bookmasters is clear, but the best part about this new partnership is that they seem to be just as excited about working with us.

“I feel truly blessed for this. I feel God has put you in my life so this will happen. We are partners in this endeavor and I want you to know I am here to help you reach your goals. We both answer to a higher calling––let’s help build His Kingdom together.”  –Randy McKenzie

Books from our former distributor’s warehouse are being transitioned to Bookmasters currently. While there could be some slight lag time in retailers fulfilling orders as the books move from one warehouse to the other, we are doing everything in our power to make this as smooth and efficient as possible.

The doors have been opening consistently in this transition, and we know that God’s hand has been–and will continue to be–guiding us through it all. Thank you for your prayers and for faithfully writing the words God has given you. We hope you are as excited about this new phase as we are!
